How we publish these videos
We upload each day's video with a small application of our own, also called "Nett Daily", which uses the YouTube API Services. It publishes only to our own channel.
What the app does
Each day it uploads that day's video (and on Fridays the weekly roundup), with its title and description, to the Nett Daily YouTube channel, and checks whether the video is public so we can show it on the matching issue page.
What access it asks Google for, and why
YouTube only lets an app upload to a channel after the channel owner allows it. The app asks for two YouTube permissions and uses them for nothing else:
- Upload videos to the Nett Daily channel.
- Read the Nett Daily channel's own videos, to check that an upload is public.
Who uses it
Only the Nett Daily team signs in to it, to publish our own videos. Readers and subscribers never sign in with Google, and the app does not access anyone else's Google or YouTube data.
How the app uses and protects data is set out in our Privacy Policy (section 11) and Terms of Service. Watching our videos on YouTube is also covered by the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
